Software Concepts

The following three principals are underlying our software concept as guidelines:

• By the integration of our formula system on base of the dot net framework every user may use those formulas (as he knows from spreadsheets like Microsoft Excel® for instance) for his price calculations now directly in our ERP System.
• The 2nd principal which we call equal treatment of comparable elements includes the targeting of all business activities on the goal of transparency and simplicity of all transactions. All areas of the business organization should be defined mostly abstract and in general so that - as far as possible - all special- and exception-rules may be avoided. Within this principle we did try to make complex transactions inside the enterprise mostly transparent by using general and abstract regulations.
  This implicates for instance that customers and suppliers are kept in the same table and eliminates the double holding of data in case that one partner is also customer as well as supplier.
• The 3rd principal is to arrange our software in layers. Our software is developed in so call Three-tier architecture, therefore inside the software there is existing one layer for the user interface, one for the business logic and a third for the database. The user-front-end can be changed very easily for instance to a windows front end or be also designed as palm-screen or a website. Inside the business logic we did implement web-services which build a convenient interface for third party software. Therewith other software developers may use our ERP engine for their own application developent.
